Service Line-Items

Service line items with approval turn into individual, trackable tasks within the Inventory Hub.

Service Line-Items

In Inventory Hub, Service Line Items are specific tasks or services added by your Fixed Operations team. These items represent the recommended and required work identified through vehicle inspections or special service requests to prepare a vehicle for sale or delivery.

What Are Service Line Items?

Service line items break down vehicle preparation into detailed, actionable items. Each line item typically includes parts, labor, and fees, and reflects work needed to bring the vehicle up to dealership standards.

Only Inventory Managers have control over these line items’ approval status, with the ability to Approve, Deny, or Undo decisions as part of managing the preparation workflow.

How Service Line-Items Work

  • Created by Fixed Operations: The Fixed Operations team adds line items, via Edit, based on inspections or service requests, detailing exactly what is recommended or required for the vehicle.

  • Approval Controls: Inventory Managers review each line item and decide whether to approve or deny the service. When approved, tasks are generated for the Fixed Operations team. These decisions can be reversed if necessary.

  • Attached Quotes: Each line item includes associated quotes for parts, labor, and fees. Approved items contribute to the vehicle’s total preparation budget.

  • Tracking & Reporting: Inventory Hub calculates and reports budget usage against allocations, helping management monitor expenses and control costs throughout the preparation process.

Why Service Line-Items Matter

Service line items create clear visibility and control over the vehicle preparation workflow. By formally tracking recommended and required services with attached costs, your team gains better oversight, improved decision-making, and stronger financial management.

This process helps ensure vehicles meet quality standards while keeping budgets on track.
